The Basketball Champions League Season X Awards Ceremony on Friday turned into a celebration of the competition’s decade-long history, marking the league’s tenth anniversary during the Final Four weekend in Badalona. Held between the semifinal games and the championship matchup at the Palau Municipal d’Esports de Badalona, the event honored numerous standout figures who have shaped the BCL over the past ten seasons.
Alongside the regular season accolades, the league unveiled its official Team of the Decade, recognizing the players who have left the greatest impact since the competition’s inception. The First Team features Giorgi Shermadini, Vojtech Hruban, Kendrick Perry, Kevin Punter, and Marcelinho Huertas. The Second Team consists of Joe Ragland, Vitor Benite, Levi Randolph, Tim Abromaitis, and Dejan Kravic.
Another prestigious honor went to Tenerife head coach Txus Vidorreta, who was named Coach of the Decade following years of sustained success in the tournament. Pierre-Antoine Gillet also received special recognition as the only player to have participated in every season since the Basketball Champions League was launched.
According to the league, all awards and decade honors were determined through a combined voting process involving clubs, coaches, players, media representatives, fans, and BCL officials.
